RimWorld - Ideology
I was hired by Ludeon Studios to create a marketing campaign for RimWorld’s second expansion, Ideology. I wrote copy for online store pages, in-game advertisements, announcements, and social media. I captured and edited screenshots of my own gameplay and creative designs. I also assisted with the game’s trailer by providing save files for footage and screenwriting.

I was responsible for designing Ideology’s Steam store page. I wrote the copy, built and took the in-game screenshots, assisted with the trailer, and made all of the visual Steam assets.
From announcement day (July 4, 2021) to release day (July 20, 2021), Ideology received over 162,000 wishlists. During the first week of sales, Ideology saw a 43.7% conversion rate of its pre-existing wishlists.
I provided the gameplay shown in the Ideology screenshots and trailer. I played RimWorld and designed every colonist, building, and setting using developer tools. My goal was to make each screenshot visually distinct and to feature all of the Ideology’s new content.
The screenshots were taken in 4K and edited in Photoshop. I also adapted them into banners and other promotional material.
The Ideology trailer used the same savegames as the screenshots. I helped coordinate the trailer production process, attended meetings, assisted with capturing footage, and script-writing.

I also wrote the copy for Ideology’s announcements. The original Steam announcement received over 15,000 upvotes and 1500 comments, in addition to 12,000 upvotes and 2,000 comments on Reddit, and 400 retweets on Twitter.
